What We Witnessed. What We Built.
Calidream Foundation exists because of what we've witnessed in 18 years serving Solano County families through auto insurance and vehicle registration. When survivors SURVIVE with disability — systems abandon them. When survivors THRIVE — they do it without support, not because of it.
The gap is real. We bridge it.

By The Numbers: California's Pedestrian Crisis
The need for survivor support and prevention education is urgent. California leads the nation in pedestrian fatalities, and Northern California communities face disproportionate risk.
Statewide (California, 2023):
- 1,106 pedestrian deaths — highest of any state in the nation
- 27% of all California traffic deaths are pedestrians
- 75% of pedestrian deaths occur at night
- 1 in 4 pedestrian injuries occur in hit-and-run crashes
- California's pedestrian fatality rate: 25% higher than national average
Solano County (Local Context, 2024):
- At least 5 pedestrian deaths in one month (October 2024, CBS Sacramento)
- "Unusual increase in pedestrian-involved crashes" reported by Vacaville Police Department
- Multiple fatal incidents documented in Fairfield, Vallejo, and Vacaville
Sources: California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), CBS Sacramento, Daily Republic, Vacaville PD. Data current as of April 2026.
Every statistic represents a family. Every survivor faces recovery without roadmaps. Every prevention effort saves lives. This is why we exist.
The Gap We Witnessed
In Northern California's Hispanic communities, when a pedestrian-vehicle accident happens:
- Death → Families get grief counseling, financial support, community rallying, memorial services, and acknowledgment of loss.
- Survival with disability → Survivors get discharged from medical care, abandoned by systems designed for death or full recovery, and face a lifetime of adaptation without roadmaps, peer support, or recognition of what they've lost.
We saw this pattern hundreds of times. We built Calidream Foundation to fill it.
Our Mission
Calidream Foundation supports vehicle accident survivors and prevents pedestrian-vehicle collisions in Northern California's Hispanic communities through three core programs: survivor recovery support, disfiguring-injury recovery, and bilingual driver safety education.
